We are now operational!
What a week we have had at the new distillery. We are now officially operational and have produced new make spirit for the very first time, filling whisky cask number one from our new stills. We have also welcomed the first cask club owners to witness their casks being filled, marking the start of their very own whisky journey with us.
It's been an absolute pleasure to see and hear our distillery come to life after years of hard work, planning and commitment - a proud moment that we'll remember for a long time. We are very excited to welcome visitors to our new home.
On Monday 7 April, our team were on site to fill cask number one and we couldn't resist the opportunity to capture this milestone. This Scottish Oak cask will be stored pride of place in our cask warehouse in the distillery where it will become a cherished reminder of all that has been achieved, and we look forward to sampling it in the years to come.
We've welcomed some members of The 1655 Club along to fill their own cask, meet the team and take a look inside the new distillery. Their feedback has been nothing short of spectacular and to welcome visitors inside for the very first time has really energised us to complete the visitor centre and open our doors to the public.
On Wednesday, our friends at STV even popped in to see us and our CEO, Rennie, appeared in a news report on the channel later that evening. If you missed the report you can watch this below. Our exciting week was also covered in local and industry press which helped us attract eager future visitors to sign up to our distillery news database.
Now that commissioning is complete, we are turning our attention to creating a world class visitor centre, bar and retail experience like no other. The team are busy making final touches, selecting finishes and designing tours and experiences that will engage, surprise and delight visitors for years to come.
